Our Vision

Here at the University of Arizona we strive for quality, not only in our vehicle concepts and designs but in the education of our members and the extent of the Formula experience. This is far more than just our hobby; it’s our passion, our obsession, our prime focus. The Formula Experience builds more than just the car, it builds the mind, and it builds the person.

Our focus each year in our design and testing further advance our systems and processes from the previous year. Utilizing a combination of trial and error testing and re-evaluating fundamental design and engineering principles we are able to greatly improve our old designs and theories. As better testing equipment becomes available and more advanced engineering and industry principles are discovered the team is again able to advance the quality of its ideas, designs and strategies not only for the car but for the program itself. By the end of each competition year we have students well rounded in effective fabrication and design techniques as well as those educated in process optimization and team management. The most important gain, however, is in the thought process. We constantly work to simplify our designs from the complex behemoths they originate from. This targeted thinking also aids improving the program as a whole. Each student is taught how to adapt and work in the sub system, and general, team environments. It is with this form of learning that we seek to strengthen the bond between members, progress the growth of the team, and further solidify the legacy of the Formula Experience here at the University of Arizona.
